This thread is to discuss NY state's attempt to use State Revolving Funds to finance the construction of the Tappan Zee Bridge. The CAC sent a letter to the New York State Environmental Facilities Corporation in June. On September 19, EPA sent a letter explaining its decision that five of the projects are eligible for funding and seven of the projects are not eligible. It has been proposed that the CAC sends letters to: 1. EPA Region 2, to commend them for their decision not to allow use of the SRFs for many of the proposed actions. 2. EPA Headquarter, to inform them, as they will be engaged if the state appeals EPA's decision. 3. To NY, backing EPA's position and stating the appropriate uses of SRFs.
